PhD study: Preventing pressure ulcers in nursing homes
What’s the aim of the study?
This work aims to understand the context of, and the barriers and facilitators to, preventing pressure ulcers in nursing homes. Following this, a pressure ulcer prevention care bundle will be developed, implemented, and evaluated in nursing homes across Greater Manchester.
Why is it important?
Once pressure ulcers develop, serious and life-threatening complications may occur. This has a big impact on the patient and their family and carers, both physically and financially, and therefore pressure ulcer prevention is a key priority.
